Honda Debuts All-New 2022 Civic Hatchback

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

The newest addition to the 2022 Honda Civic lineup is the all-new Civic Hatchback, which joins the sedan as a member of the 11th-generation Civic family. Honda is promising that this is the most fun-to-drive Civic Hatchback ever, with a sportier driving experience and the return of the 6-speed manual transmission as an option.

With its sleek Euro-inspired styling and hatchback versatility, the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is the perfect combination of sporty and practical. The 2022 Civic Hatchback will also be built in the United States for the first time ever at Honda’s Greensburg, Indiana auto plant.

Engine options are a standard naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder, or an upgraded 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower. Ride and handling have been improved from the last generation as well, and the driving experience is more dynamic and exciting than ever before.

Like the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan, the Civic Hatchback gets all of the tech features upgraded for the new generation, including an updated Honda Sensing suite of safety features, an available 9-inch color touchscreen and 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and optional Bose premium sound system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available with the 9-inch infotainment system.

2022 Honda Civic Sedan

Honda has recently unveiled the all-new 2022 Honda Civic Sedan, which is the 11th generation in the model’s nearly 50 year history. The all-new Civic features a clean, modern design, luxurious interior, new technology, and advanced safety features. Honda also made sure to retain and improve the class-leading driving dynamics and efficiency that the Honda Civic is known for.

Since its introduction in 1973, Honda has sold more than 12 million Civics in the United States, making it one of the top three best selling passenger cars over the past five decades. The Honda Civic is especially popular with first-time car buyers and younger car buyers looking for something fun yet practical.

“Civic has been the go-to choice for compact car buyers for almost 50 years and the all-new 11th-generation Honda Civic builds on that leadership with simple and sporty styling inside and out, best-in-class features and class-leading performance,” said Dave Gardner of Honda.

Some additional features included on the 2022 Honda Civic are a new standard 7-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an available Bose premium sound system, available wireless phone charging, a more powerful and efficient 1.5-liter turbo engine. To take things even further for 2021, Honda will be offering a Limited Edition model of the Civic Type R that offers lower weight, improved handling, and exclusive Phoenix Yellow paint.

Exterior upgrades for the Civic Type R Limited Edition include the exclusive Phoenix Yellow paint color, gloss black paint accents, a dark chrome Civic badge, lightweight forged-alumninum alloy wheels from BBS and extra grippy Michelin Cup 2 performance tires.

Inside, there is a special numbered plaque on the center console designating its build number, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, new weighted shift knob, and the Honda Sensing Suite of safety and driver-assistive technology as standard equipment. Honda has also removed 28 pounds of sound deadening material to further reduce weight.

Under the hood you still get the same race-bred 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with VTEC that produces an impressive 306 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, and is mated to a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential.

2020 Honda Civic Type R Gets Performance & Technology Upgrades

2020 Honda Civic Type R

The popular Honda Civic Type R performance car is getting a few upgrades for the 2020 model year, including suspension, brake and engine cooling improvements, as well as a new performance data logging app. All 2020 Honda Civic Type R models also receive standard Honda Sensing safety features.

Honda has updated the exterior of the 2020 Civic Type R with new front and rear bumpers and a new grille design that helps keep the engine cooler in combination with an updated radiator core. The interior has also been refreshed, with a new Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, new shift lever and shift knob inspired by previous Type R models.

Suspension upgrades make the 2020 Honda Civic Type R even sharper and more responsive. The Adaptive Damper System now can evaluate road conditions 10 times faster, and stiffer bushings and lower-friction ball joints contribute to better steering feel and handling characteristics.

A first for any Honda vehicle is the new Honda LogR performance data logger app that is available for iPhone and Android users. The app works by using the Type R’s onboard computer and sensors to monitor and record various performance parameters, including lap times, G-forces, GPS location and more.
