Honda to Adopt NACS for North American EVs

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled its agreement with Tesla, Inc. to incorporate Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging ports of its forthcoming EV models set to debut in North America. In 2025, Honda intends to introduce a new EV model in North America equipped with a NACS-compatible port, and this commitment to NACS will extend across its future model range.
For EV models slated to be launched in North America before 2025, which will come equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port, Honda is actively working on ensuring NACS compatibility through the use of a charging adapter.
In a recent development, Honda has also revealed its participation in a collaborative venture with seven automakers* in North America to construct a high-powered EV charging network, aimed at establishing a dependable charging infrastructure. Furthermore, Honda has committed to implementing NACS, allowing its customers to access Tesla Supercharger stations, thereby significantly enhancing the convenience of charging.
