Ed Voyles Honda is proud to announce that the 2016 Honda HR-V has been named as a finalist for the 2016 Green SUV of the Year, by Green Car Journal. This all new Honda compact crossover model is being recognized for environmental performance with a top fuel economy rating of 35 mpg highway and as an Ultra Low Emissions vehicle (LEV2 ULEV). Each year the award winning Green Car Journal announces their list of vehicles, which they deem to be fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. The Green SUV of the Year winner will be honored with other winning vehicles for the magazine’s annual 2016 Luxury Green Car and 2016 Connected Green Car of the Year awards in January 2016.
Honda is continually making efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its vehicles and strives to improve fuel efficiency and low emissions without jeopardizing the driving experience for Honda Vehicle owners. New powertrain technologies, including more fuel-efficient engines, transmissions and advanced electromotive technologies are being designed and introduced in new Honda models each year. The new Honda HR-V is the first of many smaller crossover vehicles that will replace larger, less fuel-efficient vehicles in the future.
The editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, Ron Cogan described the new HR-V as “…sporty, right-sized and fun to drive,” he also commented on the vehicle’s price point as “ Its approachable price means a great many drivers have access to a versatile crossover with a top fuel economy rating of 35 mpg.”. Honda executives have explained that the HR-V has been designed to “…fulfill the Honda brand promise to deliver both fun-to-drive enjoyment with outstanding fuel efficiency.”
