Honda Odyssey Earns IIHS & NHTSA Highest Ratings

The new 2018 Honda Odyssey recently received the highest safety ratings from both the Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). When equipped with available Honda Sensing® and LED headlights, the new Honda Odyssey earned a 2017 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA.
Vehicles to receive the IIHS 2017 Top Safety Pick+ award must have an available crash prevention system with an advanced or superior rating and headlamps that earn an acceptable or good rating. They must also earn a good rating in small and moderate overlap front, roof strength and head restraint tests.
The new 2018 Honda Odyssey earned good ratings across the board. In IIHS collision avoidance tests the Odyssey’s Collision Mitigation Braking System™, part of the Honda Sensing® suite of advanced safety technologies, earned a superior rating. When equipped with Honda Sensing® the Odyssey avoided collisions in track tests at 12 mph and 25 mph.
In the NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the 2018 Honda Odyssey received a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score with 5 stars in frontal crash tests for driver and passenger, 5 stars in side crash tests for front and rear seats and 4 stars in the rollover test.
