2017 Honda Civic Type R Makes its Debut

The new 2017 Honda Civic Type R recently made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. This long-awaited model is expected to go on sale in the U.S. later this Spring. It will be the first ever Type-R badged Honda to be sold on American soil and it will make its U.S. Debut at the New York Auto Show on April 12, 2017.

This new, race inspired Civic carries over the hatchback body design of the Honda Civic 5-door model. It will feature a U.S.-built 2.0-liter DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged i-VTEC in-line 4-cylinder engine. It is expected to deliver 306 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. The powerful engine will be mated with a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission with rev matching capability for smoother gear shifts and better power delivery.
