Honda Clarity Series Earns Clean Air Award

The new Honda Clarity series was recently recognized by the Coalition for Clean Air with a California Air Quality Award. The prestigious 2018 California Air Quality Award for Corporate Environmental Stewardship, recognizes vehicles that reduce or eliminate tailpipe emissions without sacrificing style, comfort or performance.

This award is the most recent accolade earned by the Honda Clarity series.  New Honda Clarity models have also been recognized as the 2018 Green Car of the Year® by Green Car Journal for its range of plug-in hybrid, electric and hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles, spacious design and the highest all-electric range rating* among mid-size plug-in hybrids.  Additionally, the 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid was named 2018 Best Buy of the Year among electric and hybrid cars according to Kelley Blue Book’s, with a class-leading1 47-mile all-electric range rating.2

Currently the 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid is the only model of the Clarity series to be available for purchase nationwide. Other models in the series include the 2018 Clarity Electric and the 2018 Clarity Fuel Cell models, both available in select markets in California. The Coalition for Clean Air is a non-profit organization that encourages new technology, laws and environmental practices that promote clean, healthy air for California.

Honda Accord Sedan vs. Nissan Altima

If you are shopping for a new car the Honda Accord and the Nissan Altima are probably on your list. The 2018 Honda Accord Sedan LX CVT and the 2018 Nissan Altima 2.5 S are comparably priced and similar in many ways. These two sedans offer excellent fuel economy* and are packed with convenience and safety features.

There are slight differences in performance, safety ratings, passenger space and cargo volume between these two models. The new Honda Accord Sedan LX CVT delivers 192 horsepower @5500 rpm while the new Nissan Altima 2.5 S delivers 179 horsepower @6000 rpm. Both models have high safety ratings. In NHTSA Front Passenger Crash Test, Overall Side Barrier Crash Test and Rollover Safety ratings the new Accord earned a five star rating and the Altima earned four stars. The Honda Accord offers a bit more interior space than the Altima with 105.6 cu. ft. of passenger room compared to 101.9 cu.ft. of passenger volume in the Nissan Altima. Differences in maximum cargo volume exist as well with the Accord offering 16.7 cu. ft. compared to 15.4 cu. ft. of cargo space in the Altima.

Although both vehicles are well equipped with driver friendly amenities there are a few differences between standard comfort features. The new Honda Accord includes standard Dual Zone Climate Control, Automatic Climate Control and an illuminated vanity mirror while none of these features are available on the new Altima. New Accord models are also equipped with an Anti-Theft stereo feature and folding side mirrors not available on the Altima.
