Four 2017 Hondas Named “Best Family Cars”

Auto Authority Kelly Blue Book (KBB) recently named the 2017 Honda CR-V, HR-V, Pilot and Odyssey as Best Family Cars of 2017. The list of 12 Best Family Cars is published by KBB each year with a focus on vehicles that offer the best combination of safety, value, versatility, amenities, comfort and drivability.

To determine which vehicles would be included in the “Best Family Cars” list, ten KBB editors spent two weeks driving and testing a variety of 2017 models. These models included vehicles that won the title last year and the best new and redesigned models for 2017. Most vehicles selected for inclusion on the list had a 4-star Overall Safety Rating (or better) from the NHTSA. Most models also ranked best in class on the KBB 5-year Cost to Own calculations and have strong reputations for durability and reliability.

Honda HR-V

The 2017 Honda CR-V and Honda HR-V were included on the “Best 2-Row SUVs for Families” category. The completely redesigned CR-V was recognized for its all-new engine, architecture, a more spacious cabin and high-tech safety equipment. The new Honda HR-V was acknowledged as the smallest and least expensive vehicle in the selection of best family cars. However, KBB editors were impressed with the remarkable interior space and nearly 60 cubic feet of cargo space this model offers.

Honda Pilot

In the “Best 3-Row SUVs for Families” category the 2017 Honda Pilot was selected for its roomy interior, large and adaptable cargo area, a unique underfloor compartment and its sliding or reclining second row seating. The Pilot is a favorite with KBB experts and has also been named Midsize SUV Best Buy twice.

Honda Odyssey

The 2017 Honda Odyssey was selected for the “Best Minivan” category based on its versatile seating, including a fold-into-the-floor third row, a built in HondaVac vacuum cleaner and stylish body design. It also earned points for Special Edition features such as tri-zone climate control, rearview camera and a rear DVD entertainment system with 9-inch screens.
