The Power of Trust
You can't buy trust. You have to earn it.
Ed Voyles got his start in the automobile business after getting out of the Air Force in 1945. Mr. Voyles began selling Desoto/Plymouth automobiles and within a year was promoted to salesmanager. After five years in that position a bleeding ulcer made him think about starting his own business. " I worked real long hours and just drove myself, and I had to have 12 pints of blood," said Mr. Voyles. "The doctor did not think I was going to live, and I was only 28 years old".
Working for himself turned out to be less stressful. In 1952 Mr. Voyles opened a small used car lot in East Point, Georgia and five years later he entered the new car business, with an American Motors franchise.
In 1967, he obtained an Oldsmobile dealership in southwest Atlanta, then sold it late in 1971. In early 1972 Mr. Voyles opened an Olsmobile dealership on Cobb Parkway, and in 1973 he added a Honda Dealership. In 1982 Mr. Voyles added a Chrysler dealership and in 1986 added Acura on Peachtree Ind. Blvd and a new make from Korea called Hyundai.
Mr. Voyles passed away in May of 2004, leaving the dealerships to his three children. His daughter Valery had been hand picked by the family patriarch to run the dealerships. Her fathers death, only six months after mother had died, left Valery feeling "like somebody had hit me in the head with a baseball bat".
But Valery plunged into her new role and put her own spin on the operation by investing in new technology and adding franchises. The dealerships grew by adding Dodge, Kia, and Jeep.
Yet even today, Ed Voyles influences his daughter's philosophy about running a dealership. "My fathers mantra was always: 'You sell your first car in the showroom and your second in the service department'.
The Voyles family is very involved in the Cobb and Marietta city school system, where they provide cars for the "Teacher of the Year" to use for a year. Also the family supports many charities such as the Shepard Spinal Center, Atlanta Humane Society, Atlanta Blood Bank just to name a few.
That's what Ed Voyles Auto Group has been doing for more than 60 years: earning the trust and confidence of Georgia residents, with a total dedication to complete

long-term satisfaction. It's paid off. People trust Ed Voyles for the right selection, the right price and the right service. That's how Ed Voyles sells so many cars, trucks, minivans, and sport utilities year after year. That's why so many of Ed Voyles' customers are repeat customers...or referred by someone who has done business with Ed Voyles.
